El Luchador's Oscar Yays! & Nays!: Sound Editing

PROBABLY WILL WIN

AVATAR (Christopher Boyes and Gwendolyn Yates Whittle) -This category is closer to the "Sound Designer" category I was speaking about last week. Again this film is going to sweep the tech awards. There may be some who are going to rebel and vote for the the other four, all of which were very well done (I saw "The Hurt Locker" so now I can comment on it), but not enough. Truly all of the films sounded amazing, but "Up" and "Inglorious Basterds" are the long shots, "The Hurt Locker" is in third for those that think they really paid attention to the sound, and "it was so much better than 'Avatar.'" Those people are just being contrary (read assholes). "Star Trek" is the closest contender because Sci-Fi usually takes the Oscar here, but if they are going for Sci-Fi everyone is just going to vote "Avatar" by default.

SHOULD WIN

AVATAR (Christopher Boyes and Gwendolyn Yates Whittle)
